Perbadanan Putrajaya and Gentari Launch EV Charging Station in Putrajaya

Putrajaya Equestrian Park, 17 October 2024 - Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPj) in collaboration with clean energy solutions provider Gentari Sdn Bhd (Gentari), through its subsidiary Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd, proudly announces the launch of a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station at Putrajaya Equestrian Park. Located at the parking lot near to Eques Cabin Café, the charging station provides up to 7kW of AC power, designed to meet the needs of EV users at the area.

The EV charging station was officially launched by PPj President, Dato’ TPr. Fadlun Mak Ujud and Gentari Green Mobility Chief Operating Officer, Haikal Zubir. This initiative is part of PPj’s broader plan to install 100 EV charging points in Putrajaya by 2030, in support of Putrajaya’s aspiration to become a low carbon city. Strategic locations identified for future charging stations include Laman Perdana, Perbadanan Putrajaya Complex, Putrajaya International Convention Centre, Taman Saujana Hijau, Marina Putrajaya, Putrajaya Sentral and Putrajaya Lake Club.

While charging, users can enjoy the serene surroundings of Putrajaya Equestrian Park, join horse riding activities or have delectable dishes and beverages at the Eques Cabin Café. Commenting in a release, Dato’ TPr. Fadlun Mak Ujud, PPj President: “Our partnership with Gentari is another example of how Putrajaya partners with global energy players to develop state-of-the-art EV facilities for communities and visitors in Putrajaya. We’re delighted to be launching this latest offering in Putrajaya through collaboration with private sectors equally committed to fast-tracking Putrajaya city’s transition to a sustainable future.”

Haikal Zubir, Chief Operating Officer of Gentari Green Mobility commented, “We are pleased to collaborate with Perbadanan Putrajaya to expand the availability of EV charging infrastructure in the nation's administrative capital. This partnership not only supports Putrajaya’s journey towards becoming a low carbon city, but also facilitates the Federal Government's goal to have EVs making up 50% of its new fleet acquisition by 2025.”

The public can also experience easy and seamless charging by using the Gentari Go clean energy platform, which offers customers an integrated sustainable lifestyle experience, enabling the flow of clean energy from roof to wall to wheel.

With over 160 DC charging points, Gentari currently operates the largest direct current (DC) charging network in Malaysia. Regionally, Gentari operates nearly 1,000 chargers across Malaysia, Thailand and India as well as provides access to an extensive network of nearly 4,000 roaming chargers through partnerships with various charging point operators. In addition to EV charging, Gentari also has a Vehicle-as-a-Service (VaaS) offering with more than 3,800 EVs already deployed in Malaysia, Indonesia and India.
