SEDC Energy, Gentari collaborate to develop low-carbon hydrogen in Sarawak’s green mobility supply chain for KUTS

Kuching, Sarawak – 13 June 2023 – SEDC Energy Sdn Bhd and Gentari through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Gentari Hydrogen Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Petronas Hydrogen Sdn Bhd), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the International Energy Week (IEW 2023), to collaborate on the development of low-carbon hydrogen for the green mobility supply chain to support Sarawak’s Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS).

The MOU, witnessed by the Premier of Sarawak, outlines the intention of both parties to engage in mutually advantageous discussions and conduct collaborative studies and research on businesses, production, supply, and regulatory development of low-carbon hydrogen. The proposed scope of collaboration includes joint development, knowledge sharing, facility maintenance and operation, and co-branding amongst others.

Through this collaboration, SEDC and Gentari strives to drive the adoption of green mobility solutions, catalysing the transition to low carbon transportation in Sarawak. The joint efforts aim to propel Sarawak’s energy sustainability goals, paving the way for a greener and more resilient future for the state.
