Jakarta, 25 July
2024 – Gentari Green Mobility is now set to grow its Vehicle-as-a-Service (VaaS)
and charging point solutions in Indonesia. Its subsidiary PT Gentari Green
Mobility Fleet has signed an agreement with PT Energi Selalu Baru (ESB), a
subsidiary of PT NFC Indonesia Tbk (IDX: NFCX), MCASH Group, to collaborate on electric
vehicle (EV) fleet solutions. Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding
between PT Gentari Green Mobility Charge and Indonesia’s national utility
company, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) (PLN), will see the parties jointly
expanding EV charging infrastructure in the country.
In collaboration
with MCASH Group, Gentari Green Mobility is currently focusing on two-wheel
EVs, offering co-branded electric motorcycles through a VaaS subscription
model, supported by a network of Battery Swapping Stations (SGB). To date, a
fleet of 300 electric motorcycles has been deployed across key regions of Jakarta,
Tangerang, West Java and East Java, and 30 Battery Swapping Stations have been
activated in Jakarta, Tangerang, Depok and Bekasi. Gentari Green Mobility and
MCASH Group aim to significantly expand this fleet and the number of Battery
Swapping Stations by the end of 2024.
Meanwhile, Gentari
Green Mobility is collaborating with PLN to jointly develop public EV charging
points, in support of the Government’s aim to accelerate EV adoption and expand
charging infrastructure. To kick off the collaboration, a joint study will be
conducted on the technical, business and commercial aspects of deploying public
EV charging infrastructure, followed by a pilot project and subsequent rollout.
Currently, Gentari Green Mobility is set to initiate deployment of charging
points in strategic locations across Java, including malls, condominiums,
commercial areas, and highways.
Senthil Balan,
Chief Venture Officer of Gentari Green Mobility, commented, “In Indonesia, Gentari
Green Mobility is dedicated to supporting the growth of the country’s EV
ecosystem by making the transition to EVs easier and more accessible. We are
committed to building partnerships and collaborations with local companies to
help achieve the nation’s climate goals, including net-zero emissions by 2060,
as the country advances towards becoming the world’s fourth-largest economy by
2045. This aligns with Gentari Green Mobility’s goal to become Asia Pacific’s
leading green mobility solutions partner.”
Okie Octavia

Gentari Green Mobility marks a significant step forward in our mission to
revolutionise the green energy landscape. Partnering with Gentari Green
Mobility, an industry leader in Southeast Asia, will push us further towards

reducing carbon emissions in urban areas and beyond. We're thrilled to expand
the electric motorcycle infrastructure together with Gentari Green Mobility's
profound understanding of the region's energy needs.”
Edi Srimulyanti, Director

promoting an environmentally friendly lifestyle in Indonesia, particularly in
the transportation sector. We welcome the collaboration with Gentari Green
Mobility, as working together will significantly enhance our efforts to expand
Indonesia’s EV charging network, accelerating both adoption and infrastructure
development to support the nation's clean energy goals.”
Across Asia, Gentari
Green Mobility’s network of more than 920 CPs covers Malaysia, Thailand and India
while it has also deployed more than 3,800 EVs through its VaaS fleet across
